About Project
The tide of globalization has created a momentum to push Taiwan forward to join the international community in full dimension with a pace which has never been expected before. The question is how Taiwan can deal with it in an efficient way as well as productively. It is well known that internationally the worldwide Oversea Taiwanese play a significant role in many fields such as Academicals, Arts, as well as Economics. Their outstanding performance in the international arena has created a great impact on the development of modern technology. It will be a great asset for Taiwan that if the Oversea Taiwanese can be involved together in the movement of Taiwan's internationalization. Particularly, the 2nd and 3rd generation of Oversea Taiwanese, that they have received modern education and are grown up in an environment with an atmosphere of diversified cultures. With the input and/or assistance of the young generation, the force of Taiwan's globalization shall be more creative, constructive and productive. Under this consideration, It shall be a worthwhile task that creating opportunities for those outstanding young people to join the actions in helping Taiwan to extend international influence.

During recent years, Taiwan government organizations have organized several events and projects that encourage the Oversea Taiwanese youths to visit and communicate with Taiwan; those programs have gained great recognition from the participants.

Thus, Taiwan International Medical Alliance (TIMA) is planning a project - Oversea Taiwanese Medical Student Nourishing Project - , which offers the Oversea Taiwanese youths with a major in medical, heath sciences, and other related subjects to have a chance to apprentice in Taiwan's medical schools or hospitals. This program is supported by Taiwan Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission (TOCAC) and made available for those outstanding youths to exchange professional knowledge and experience with the personnel working in medical field in Taiwan, and also to learn about Taiwanese society, culture, and humanity.

All participants are requested to make their own schedule in joining the program, and go through the procedures of apprenticing, seminar attending, cultural spots visiting, and conclude with a final written report. At present, there are 7 hospitals available for apprenticing, and it provides the participants with the state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Duration of staying in Taiwan for each will be 1 month to 3 month, and we will offer information and technical assistance upon requested.
